Print Design

Creative Brief - A good brief is essential for us, it will enable us to position your product or service correctly, saving time and money. This will result in fewer concepts; less confusion and a compelling project output.

  • Brainstorm, gather reference and research the market. Then we draw, sketch and scribble. Ideas can happen anywhere even in the initial meeting and with experience we can gauge what is and isn’t going to work very early on in the design process.
  • During the process, you will be asked for constant feedback. By working directly and openly with us at all times, the design process will be most successful.

Conceptualisation - Working in stages is common practice, but development of initial concept is vital, just the grain of an idea rarely makes for a successful brand identity.

  • Concepts are presented to the client
  • Deliberation
  • Feedback, comments are valuable
  • ‘Live’

Design Finalisation - Your final design will be put together in an electronic format for you to proof. At this point you will “sign off” on your design.

  • Digital proof (e-mail, full-image size transfer)
  • Desktop Printer proof
  • Check all content and for scratches, marks and dust, as well as color and position
  • Often be asked to sign your approval on proofs

Web Development

Step 1 - Planning - You complete the web design brief, and from there we start planning the layout and structure of your site – in consultation with you. We sketch out a layout, and build from there, incorporate ‘usability’ techniques for intuitive browsing for the end-user.

Step 2 - Information Gathering - During this stage, you will be sent a comprehensive ‘web design checklist’ entailing all of the details we need you to supply to us. From here you will gather necessary information and get your product imagery and pricing, postage, and other relevant information.
You will also be asked to supply your web page copy. You can either write the text for each web page, or work with one of our copywriters.

Step 3 - Design - We provide you with anywhere up to 3 initial design concepts (if necessary). Generally the website design doesn’t require that many initial concepts as your branding and colors are generally established prior to web design commencement.
The initial concepts will show the “frame” for the pages-the basic navigation and design scheme that will remain the same across all of the pages of the site. From there we will work in close consultation with you to tweak and revise the website design until you are completely satisfied.

Step 4 - Coding - Once the design is “approved” we start coding the backend/pages of the website. Once the template is created, we show you the HTML version and you will be given an opportunity to make minor revisions until you are satisfied.

Step 5 - ImplementationThe text and required images for the site are placed into the page template and formatted. For e-commerce websites, this is the point where the shopping cart aspect is integrated with the website template, and the shop layout is completed.
We offer two rounds of revisions for client-requested changes during this, so you can make text edits and corrections after you see the text in the pages.

Step 6 - Stocking the shelvesAt this point, you are required to stock the shelves of your shop (brochure sites skip this phase). You will upload your product images and include product descriptions of all of your products, as well as pricing - This is done through the backend of the shopping cart, with an easy-to-use administration panel. We will guide you through this process, and will be on hand to answer questions should they arise. If you would like us to stock the shop on your behalf, we are happy to oblige a fee.

Step 7 - TestingWe conduct testing with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari to ensure pages render correctly. Other browser testing is available.

Step 8 - LaunchWe launch the site! After the site is live, we also submit it to the major search engines on your behalf, and you are now set up and ready to go!
